In 2017, the Alberta government undertook the most significant review of employment legislation in over 30 years, which led to the introduction and passing of Bill 17: The Fair and Family-friendly Workplaces Act. The majority of the resulting employment standards changes took effect in 2018. While the most widely talked about change was the increase to minimum wage, in an attempt to reflect the changing nature of work and family life the workplace legislation went much further. Join Jennifer for an overview of 2018’s workplace legislation changes and what these mean for your business.
