President of Pizza Nova
Domenic Primucci was born to immigrant parents from the region of Basilicata in Italy. Back in 1963 his father and uncles opened one small, corner pizzeria called Pizza Nova in Toronto. Today, Domenic is the President of Pizza Nova, which is still a Toronto-based family owned and operated business. A business that now has 150 locations throughout most of Southern Ontario.
In April of 2012, with Domenic’s leadership, Pizza Nova won the Grand Prize Award of Excellence in Franchising which is the Canadian Franchise Association’s most coveted and highest honour. Since that win at the CFA convention, Pizza Nova has consecutively won Bronze, Silver and Gold in its category each year; most recently taking home the Gold in April 2018 and 2019. In addition to the back-to-back wins, Pizza Nova is also CFA’s Franchisees’ Choice Designee for 9 years running. In December 2012 Foodservice and Hospitality Magazine awarded Pizza Nova with a Pinnacle Award for Franchise Excellence and, in December 2018, with a second Pinnacle Award for Regional Company of the Year. Domenic was named Restaurateur of the Year by Canadian Restaurant News in 2013 and, in November 2016, received the Italian Chamber of Commerce’s (ICCO) Italy-Canada Award at the 4th Annual Pentola d’Oro Awards.
